Sunshine Sports

School holidays are long, and keeping kids active, social and off screens can be a real juggle. A holiday sports camp is one of the easiest ways to fill the days with fun, friends and fresh air. If you are in Marsden Park, Riverstone or nearby and weighing up your options, here is what a good camp looks like.

What happens at a holiday camp

A camp day runs from morning to mid afternoon, so it is a full, active day out for your child. The time is broken into skill stations, small games and plenty of match play, with proper breaks for recess and lunch so younger children stay fresh. Coaches keep the groups small and pitched to each age, and the focus stays on enjoyment and steady progress rather than pressure.

What to look for

Look for qualified, friendly coaches, equipment provided, and clear start and finish times so you can plan your day. Camps that group children by age tend to work best, because the activities can be set at the right level for each group.

What to bring

Because it is a full day, pack comfortable sports clothes, joggers, a hat, sunscreen, a full water bottle, morning tea and lunch. We supply the soccer and cricket equipment, so there is nothing extra to buy.
